The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency serving the Minneapolis/St. Paul seven-county metropolitan area. It operates the regional transit system; collects and treats the region's wastewater; serves communities through affordable housing programs; establishes policies for the region's growth; and serves as the regional planning agency for transportation, aviation, water resources, and parks and open space.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Manager, Informational Services II manages the Enterprise Systems team of application developers, database administrators and project managers responsible for the Metropolitan Council's enterprise applications. As a member of the Information Services leadership team, this position performs general administrative and managerial duties including: strategic planning; operating and capital budget development; software and hardware selection and implementation; and workforce development and recruitment/selection activities. This position also has significant responsibility in the selection and coordination of vendor services and licensing agreements.
Examples of enterprise applications include: PeopleSoft Finance and Human Resources: integration of PeopleSoft with procurement, budget and grants management systems; disadvantaged business employment (DBE) systems; multiple web site and web applications; SharePoint intranet (MetNet), extranet and team collaboration; business intelligence integration and implementation; and risk management (STARS).
•Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or a closely related field.
•Five (5) years experience in the field of systems analysis, programming, application services or area of accountability. Experience must include two (2) years supervising subordinate staff.
Equivalency: A Master's degree in computer science, information systems, business or a closely related field AND three (3) years of experience in the field of systems analysis, programming, application services or area of accountability, with two (2) of those years supervising subordinate staff, may also be considered.
